Haighs Solicitors joins Farnworth Rose
From 1st August 2026, Haighs Solicitors is part of Farnworth Rose. Both Mirfield and Heckmondwike offices stay open, Nick Haigh stays in charge, and West Yorkshire gets a full range of legal services on its doorstep.
Not that the merger was planned around it but it all became official on Yorkshire Day. Was it coincedence or did Jon Batchelor, our Strategic Director and proud Yorkshireman, design the timing on purpose?
Either way, it’s great news all round as we welcome another fantastic team to Farnworth Rose. In plenty of ways, it’s business as usual for the team and clients of Haighs Solicitors.
The offices in Mirfield and Heckmondwike are open as usual, with the same telephone numbers and the same faces behind the desk. Nick Haigh, who founded Haighs seventeen years ago, stays in place to lead the West Yorkshire team. Every client there continues to work with the same person who was handling their matter last week. That part matters more to us than the growth does.
Meet Nick Haigh and Haighs Solicitors
Nick set the practice up on his own, as what he calls in a recent Facebook post “chief cook and bottle washer.” He has lived in Mirfield for more than fifty years, and his family has been in the town for two generations before that.
Writing about the merger, Nick said he had taken delight in watching the firm grow and serve the people of Mirfield, and that he now looks forward to working with Farnworth Rose to make sure the town keeps a full range of legal services close to home. He thanked his family, his friends and his clients for seventeen years of support.
Judging by the response, they were listening.
Mark Slator called it a real testament to Nick's commitment to the Mirfield community, and said he was sure Nick's clients would continue to be in excellent hands.
Michael Rider put it more plainly, saying Nick had obviously done well by his customers.
That is the bit we care about. You do not get that reaction after seventeen years unless you have looked after people properly, and it is the same reason most of our own work still arrives through repeat clients and personal referrals rather than advertising.
Why Farnworth Rose merged with Haighs Solicitors

Farnworth Rose has grown steadily since 2007, into Greater Manchester in 2025 with the incorporation of Pinnington Law, and now into West Yorkshire. Mirfield and Heckmondwike are the third and fourth offices in the firm. We are here for the long term, and we intend to be a visible part of both towns.
What’s changing and what isn’t
For existing Haighs clients and partners, the only changes you’ll see are for the better. You’ll have the same file handlers, the same points of contact and the same offices to visit or call.
But you now work with a Haighs team who is backed up with more internal and administrative support, freeing up your team to work even more effectively on your matters.
What we bring is the business side of running a law firm. Marketing, administration, finance, operations and IT. Nick was handling all of that alongside a full caseload. Now he is not, which means more time on client work and fewer occasions when the answer to a client has to be “no” or “not yet.”
Also, with our Nelson and Manchester based teams, we bring extra depth and expertise than was previously available to the Haighs clients and network.
