Ellie Davy - Trainee Solicitor
I joined Farnworth Rose in 2024 as a Paralegal in our Family Law team and started my training contract with the firm in October 2026.
As a trainee I work on client matters across a range of the firm's practice areas, under the supervision of our solicitors. I'm currently working with our Family team, where my work includes helping clients with divorce and financial separation agreements, and more.
A lot of the worry in a family case comes from not knowing what is going on. Cases often have long stretches where the next step is outside of our client’s control, such as waiting for a court hearing or a pension valuation.
A quiet few weeks can feel to a client like nothing is being done. My rule is that a client shouldn't have to chase us for an update, so I tell people where things stand, even when the answer is that we are still waiting. I'm carrying that habit into every area I work in as a trainee.
I graduated from Sheffield Hallam University with a First Class Honours degree in Law (LLB), then completed my Master of Laws in Legal Practice (LLM) at Northumbria University.
Before starting my training contract I supported our family solicitors on divorce, financial arrangements and issues involving children, working with clients and third parties to keep cases moving.
Outside the office I enjoy walking my dog and spending time with friends and family. I also love to travel and rarely miss a chance to plan the next holiday or weekend break.
