British Wills and Probate Awards 2026 Finalist - Sarah Farren
Exciting news for Farnworth Rose's Wills and Probate department as our team leader Sarah Farren has been named as a finalist in the One to Watch category of The British Wills and Probate Awards 2026.
Sarah's work often sits at the point where families are at their most vulnerable - planning in advance for the inevitable or supporting loved ones with processing the deceased's estate. She does this whilst keeping a caseload of 50 estates, LPAs and wills typically at any one time, but Sarah does not buckle under the busyness or seek external recognition.
In addition, she gives her time freely to Pendleside Hospice, delivering guidance and drop-in sessions for residents and staff alike. She's also mentored two paralegals in the past 12 months through to more senior roles and maintains a CPD record well above the minimum expectation at the firm.
Farnworth Rose co-founder and Director Janet Lalor said: "One impressive addition Sarah has brought in is following the ethos that 'the best way to learn is to teach' and always turning any course or event learnings into an internal lunch and learn event or producing helpful documents, presentations and PDFs for clients.
"In amongst all this, her regular attendance at the fortnightly Ribble Valley Bang networking group keeps her connected to the professional community."
Another reason she's made the finalist list is that her clients love her "meticulous" attention to detail and caring approach.
It's notoriously difficult to get client reviews for Wills and Probate work. The last thing anyone wants to do is spend even more time thinking about a loved one's death by leaving an online review for a solicitor. But recent clients have left public reviews on Google. One said:
"We recently used Sarah to help us prepare our wills, and we couldn't be happier with the service we received.
"Sarah was incredibly professional, kind, and completely unjudgemental to our personal circumstances. She made us feel comfortable from the very beginning and guided us through the process with so much care and understanding. She is also extremely knowledgeable and clearly knows her stuff, which gave us real confidence that we were in safe hands!
"Writing our wills felt less daunting (and depressing) thanks to her support, and we are so grateful for her help. We wouldn't hesitate to recommend Sarah to anyone."

"I have used Farnworth Rose to help in conveyancing and purchase of a property. Following on from that I have organised my Will and LPA with Sarah who has been very efficient and professional. Can highly recommend."
The British Wills and Probate Awards 2026 will take place on 8th October in Manchester, and we'll all be hoping Sarah can bring home the prize she fully deserves.
