Our Emma is Racing Across Pendle for Pendleside Hospice and here’s how you can help
If you know Emma Moore, you won't be surprised to hear she's signed up for something that most people would politely decline.
Emma, our Director of Residential Property, is taking part in Race Across Pendle on 3rd and 4th July, alongside Anthony from Innovatech Business Solutions. Together, they're aiming to raise £2,000 for Pendleside Hospice.
What is Race Across Pendle?
Think Race Across the World, but closer to home. Returning for its second year, Race Across Pendle is organised by Pendleside Hospice and sees pairs of local adventurers make their way from checkpoint to checkpoint, overcoming challenges and solving clues along the way. With just a basic budget and the ability to make quick decisions, each pair has to race to the finish line.
It's a physical endurance challenge. It is not for the faint-hearted. Which is probably exactly why Emma wanted in.
Why Emma and Anthony?
Emma and Anthony have known each other for four years through Colne Networking Group. In that time, the group has taken on the fastest zip line in the world, a skydive, and a static cycling challenge. So a two-day race across Pendle? Right up their street.
As Emma puts it: "I absolutely love Race Across the World, so what could be better than doing it in our local community?"
She's also the person who once went to the shop and came back with a paddleboard. On another occasion, a camper van. So when she says she loves a good adventure, she means it.
Anthony, Director of Innovatech Business Solutions, is equally up for it: "The idea of it sounds fantastic and great fun. What's better than doing it in our local area and doing our families and the hospice proud."
Between the two of them, they describe themselves as "competitive, creative and determined... especially when there's a charity to support." We'd say that's about right.
Why Pendleside Hospice?
Pendleside is Farnworth Rose's lead charity for 2026, and it's a cause that's close to many of our hearts.
The hospice exists to promote and enhance quality of life for people with life-limiting illnesses, their families and carers, delivering specialist palliative care that addresses physical, psychological, social and spiritual needs.
It currently costs £6.4 million a year to run. Only around 20% of that comes from funding. The rest relies entirely on charitable donations and the efforts of supporters like Emma, Anthony, and you.
How you can help
The target is £2,000 by 30th June. Every donation, however small, gets Emma and Anthony closer to that goal and helps Pendleside continue its vital work.
If you're a business and would like to support Emma's challenge through corporate sponsorship, we have a small number of sponsorship packages available. Get in touch with us to find out more.
And if you're on social media, sharing Emma's page with your network makes a real difference. Pendleside is a cause that touches every family in this area at some point. Help us spread the word.
