10 fundraisers for 10 years raise over £6,000 for the Pendleside Hospice!
At Farnworth Rose we are delighted to announce that our 10 fundraisers for 10 years has raised more £6,000 for the Pendleside Hospice!
Back in April 2017 the team at Farnworth Rose began celebrations for our tenth year in business with the aim of carrying out 10 fundraisers all in support of the Pendleside Hospice.
The journey has seen the team turn their hands to a charity car boot sale, bake off, golf day, prison break and much more.
After hosting a charity auction and curry night at the Bombay Lounge in our final fundraiser, we are delighted to announce that we have now raised £6,053 for the Pendleside Hospice.
10 fundraisers for 10 years!
Here at Farnworth Rose we kicked off our fundraising efforts in April 2017 by raising £426 with a charity car boot sale. Staff at Farnworth Rose brought an array of donations including paintings, ornaments, clothing, toys and CDs with proceeds from all sales going to the Pendleside Hospice.
Initially, the team had set a target of raising £1,000 for the Pendleside Hospice. However, after taking part in the Pendle Pub Walk, hosting a jar tombola and raising more than £1,000 at our charity golf day, it was clear that we needed to set our sights even higher.
So with a new £5,000 target to reach, we got running at the Pendleside Colour Dash, baking at our very own â??Great Farnworth Rose Bake Offâ?? and even locked in for the Farnworth Rose prison break.
After our office inmates raised more than £750 in order to secure their release, we were closing in £4,000 raised for the Pendleside Hospice by October 2017.
We were also delighted to take part in the Pendleside Corporate Challenge, which saw businesses from around the local area raising money for the Pendleside Hospice. Overall, local businesses managed to raise an astonishing £96,251.
In November 2017, we smashed our £5,000 target taking our overall fundraising total to £6,053 by hosting our charity auction and curry night at the Bombay Lounge.
The night saw ITV Granadaâ??s very own Paul Crone hosting the auction, magic from the marvellous Andrew Tunney and music from the fantastic Furious Styles duo.
A word from our Director, Richard Farnworth
â??We initially set out to raise £1,000, so to have raised over £6,000 is a fantastic achievement and one that all the team is very proud of.
â??We are also proud to have received 5 nominations and 3 commendations at the Pendleside Hospice corporate challenge awards evening.
â??Iâ??d like to thank everyone who has supported our fundraising efforts; it is thanks to the generosity of individuals and local businesses as well as the dedication of Farnworth Rose staff that we were able to raise this incredible amount.â?
