Farnworth Rose fundraising hits £3,000 at Barrowford Lifestyle Festival 2017
The 2017 Barrowford Lifestyle Festival has been a huge success as thousands of people headed to Barrowford Park to enjoy live music and an array of food and drink from the local area.
Here at Farnworth Rose, we once again sponsored the live music stage and hosted the ‘Quacky Races’ children’s duck race and the ‘High Flyers’ corporate duck race.
Since the festival began in 2015, Farnworth Rose have been delighted to raise over £3,000 for the local community by hosting the Barrowford Lifestyle Festival duck races.
This year, the ‘High Flyers’ corporate duck race saw businesses from around the local area purchase a duck with the first ten across the line winning great prizes from meal vouchers to spa experiences.
We’d like to say a big thank you to everyone who donated a prize including, Nelson Golf Club, Michelle B, Ashworth and Tennant, Turners, Fleur Couture, Bombay Lounge, Scruples Menswear, Inside Spa, Bistro 197 and the Park Farm Shop and Tea Room.
Once the corporate ducks had raced down the river it was time for the children’s duck race to take centre stage with hundreds of little ducks sent racing as the ‘Quacky Races’ began.
The 10 lucky winners took home a great selection of prizes kindly donated by Giant Leap Childcare and Learning Centre, Pendle Slot Racing, Wicked Bikez, Pendle Leisure Trust, MFA Bowling, Giddy Kippers, Thornton Hall Farm, Pegasus Drop Zone, The Art Garden and Riz’s Cakes.
Thanks to the generosity of local businesses and fantastic support from the community, this year’s duck races once again raised more than £1,000.
All of the money raised will go back in to the local community and towards the restoration of Barrowford Park.
Getting into the community spirit
