Nobody likes to think about making a Will and it can be a sensitive issue. If however, you want to ensure the future financial security of your loved ones, it is vital you seek legal advice to avoid any potential problems.

A Will or testament is a legal declaration by which a person names a person or persons to manage his/her estate, and provides for the disposal of their estate after death. Without a Will everything you own may not pass to those closest to you, which could result in them being left without the security you intended.

Obtaining Probate involves the legal process of administering the estate of a deceased person by dealing with their wishes in the Will. The executors of the Will take out the grant and are then responsible for getting in the assets of the deceased and then distributing the money and personal effects in accordance with the terms of the Will.

We can also assist if you have to deal with the estate of someone who has died without making a will. In this case it would be necessary to take out a grant of Letters of Administration. This can be complicated if the deceased has a large estate or there are a lot of family members who want to make a claim.
